Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365-page book

2020 is not an entirely bad year, there are some good that happened.
I've lost some friends whom I thought were permanent residents in my life...
...but it's ok, I've gained more than I've lost so still thankful.
Covid-19 has taught me the importance of health and the usage of time.
You are replaceable in the workplace but irreplaceable in family and friends.
Nonetheless, moving forward
May 2021 be a year of blessing, stronger health, happiness and time well spent
cheerios!

Women's friendships are like a renewable source of power

In everyone’s life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit

I'll be the sanity among the insanity
and the insanity among the sanity
just for you guys

Time takes away the grief of men

Haven't had that heart sank feeling since... I don't know, haha.
It is good because there is closure, finally moving on.
It has been an emotional roller coaster ride from life (excluding the emotional drainage from the GPA, anatomy etc.).
My life is not as mundane as I thought (and hoped) it was after all
😏

Maybe, just maybe
I am ready for a relationship.
I think I can handle.
I think.

Leo the Lion, Concordia's Champion

Image may contain: 16 people, people smiling
Leo 6 a.k.a L6

Done with 3D2N Concordia 2018
Yay to getting the best subgroup and champ for Concordia 2018!
Next's up, school and SUNIG.
My timetable sucks but...thankful that I do not have to bid for any modules. I (with both hands down) choose allocated timetables over self-planned timetables.
Time to rest up, for now, until the start of the academic journey.

Oh good bye, my precious nothing-to-do-but-laze-around weekend

No friendship is an accident

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE AWESOME ONE!♥

How long has it been since we last met up? We have been so caught up with life that we didn't even slow down and breathe, well, at least for me ever since school started. The semester has just begun and I am already looking forward to the end. Fast forward to end November please, haha!

I don't have to be with you, to know you're there,
We don't have to see each other, to know that we care.
We could be apart for years upon end,
and still remain the best of friends.

Life goes on, and people change,
And through it all, our friendship shall remain the same.

We didn't choose the thug life, the thug life chose us.

In case you guys forget how I look like, I am actually decent looking.

We'll be friends 'til we're old and senile. ... Then we'll be new friends!

Somewhere around twenty-five, bizarre becomes immature

Memories of high school years we recollect
Laugh to our young minds deed
Relive our naughtiness and crack head
Happiness are here we seek

The best antiques to collect are old friends

Memories light the corner of my mind.
Misty water color memories
Of the way we were.

Scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind,
Smiles we gave to one another
For the way we were.

Can it be that it was all so simple then,
Or has time rewritten every line?
If we had the chance to do it all again,
Tell me? would we? could we?

Memories may be beautiful and yet,
What's too painful to remember
We simply choose to forget.
So it's the laughter
We will remember,
Whenever we remember
The way we were.

We live for the nights we'll never forget with the friends we'll always remember.

Over the course of an average lifetime you meet a lot of people.
Some of them stick with you through thick and thin,
some weave their way through your life and disappear forever.
But every once and awhile someone comes along
who earns a permanent spot in your heart.

The permanent residents in my life.

Life is an awful, ugly place to not have a best friend

There's lots of things with which I'm blessed,
My problems have been few,
But of all, this one's the best:
To have a friend like you

And I can think of nothing more
That I could wisely do,
Than know a friend, and be a friend,
And have a friend like you

Somewhere along the way,we had grown into one another

Yes, they may be cheeky and mischievous;
annoying any living things on earth with their antics.

But they are the ones who stay on despite the intensity of the training sessions.
They are the ones who define loyalty.
Second family and they are worth it.

We go through tough times together...
10 close push-ups, 10 diamond push-ups, 10 wide push-ups
100 counts of 4 Buddha claps
Repeat x3

100 Leg raises
300 Squats
300 Tip-toes
etc...

Good thing we have about 2 days worth of break before the next training session.
Here's to getting stronger- in terms of mental and physical.

Don’t count the years. Count the wishes and all the cheers.

May your birthday be epic,
May you never settle for less,
May your special day be special,
May you be blessed with the best.

May your dreams never die,
May your wishes come true,
May your birthday be ageless,
May you be born anew.

Happy birthday, Bryna!

Ode To Friendship

"They're the few people who accept silence over conversation
A relationship like this denies silly promises and persuasion
You don't feel the need to second guess thoughts or measure words
Their love comes in wholes, not halves, not thirds
They're the ones that guide you through when fate takes a turn
Fights, small and large, end in forgiveness, never a burn
You forget about first impressions and the feelings they brought
You're grateful for who they are and you forgive 'em for what they're not"

xx

Friends are born, not made

This post had been sitting in the draft section for so long that I cannot remember the event, haha! The weather has been really bad, with all the burning and haze. Do drink up and take lots of care, especially for those who will be taking the major exams.

Life has been, by far, pretty busy and yet another rare chance to meet up with the fabulous, heh. The meeting point was at Cathay and dinner was settled at 18 Chefs. Kar was, as usual, entertaining us with all of her rants and updates. There will never be a dull moment with them.

This auto-detection is too funny. I just cannot.

Friendship and money: oil and water

Well, first and foremost, a huge congratulation to both the national men and women teams for emerging 2nd at the World Tchoukball Championship 2015! As usual, Taiwan defended its champion title. To dethrone them, Singapore has a lot to work on and it is not easy. Honestly speaking, I don't see them stepping down from their throne any time soon.

Moving on, World Youth Tchoukball Championship 2015 was held in Singapore Polytechnic. First ever historical win against the Taiwan team was by our very own nation's M18, despite the other age groups (M12 and M15) being thrashed badly by the Taiwanese (once again...). You must be feeling puzzled, why did our M18 win but others got beaten so badly? The M18 team is not trained by Coach Fang (Taiwan's national coach). His M15 team can easily prevail over M18. I was there to witness the match between Singapore M15 vs Taiwan M15. Those boys just rendered me speechless.

Enough of match plays. We were playing hosts to the Macau coaches and their girlfriends. The first night we had Sukiya with them and they were completely busted from eating meats of different kinds. On the second night after the competition, we had Indian food (Roti John, Roti Prata etc) with both the Taiwan and Macau teams.

On their final night in Singapore, we brought Yao Fei Long (Macau) 学长 and his girlfriend to try the local specialty- Bak Kut Teh. Initially, our plan was to let them have a taste of the herbal version (which is situated at Joo Chiat Road) but they were closed. So instead, we headed to Balestier for Founder's Bak Kut Teh. Once again, another midnight indulgence. I need to stop eating at such ungodly hours before I put on fats that can never be shredded so easily.

All in all, I had the privilege to know more people from other countries and to be able to spoil them, ensuring that they put on a few kilos before heading back to their countries. Yeah, I have done Singapore proud, HAHAHAHAHA!

Our table full of food!

Laughter is not at all a bad beginning for a friendship, and it is far the best ending for one.

P.S. Oh goodness, le round face is round-.- Angle problem, really!
ST la, it is all his fault because he kept insisting that I stay at the front because I am 'good' in taking selfies. What rubbish!

Love is blind; friendship closes its eyes

In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter and sharing of pleasures.
For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.

Finally an opportunity to meet up with the ex-colleagues from Lockdown. As all of us are scattered in different parts of Singapore, walking down the paths that we want, it wasn't easy to find a common time to meet up. Ever since the last gathering, I haven't really keep in touch with them, except for Nadiah.

Well, with time, people change. In this case, some people never change- this bunch of people is still as hilarious as ever. Hanging out with them made me miss the days of working together back in Lockdown.

My secondary school mate who later adopted the additional title of (ex)colleague

This kickstarts the extremely long break

A trophy carries dust. Memories last forever.

Inter-CC at Henderson Community Centre

It was a wonderful experience to be able to play with a team from another club. New friendships were forged and I believe all of us benefitted and grew from this competition. Despite the 2 combined training sessions, we were able to perform better than expected. Amazing, I know. HAHAHAHA!

Awesome job to the guys for clinching 2nd!

Thank you for this privilege to play on court with you people:)

From teammates to friends

The start of the hectic weekends! Bryna and Chloe were nice to come down to YDC and waited patiently until I finished work. Headed to Spatula for...er...tea(?) and afterwards to Kembangan CC for the Baina Invitation Event. It was a session of laughter and sharing over the 2 slices of cakes and the red velvet waffle set.

Next up...minions!
BANANAAAAAAAAAAA~

Life is an awful, ugly place to not have a best friend

It's the month of June! And no, I won't go all mainstream and say 'June, please be good'. I think that is pretty...ludicrous. Whether the month will become a fruitful or 'good' month depends on God and you - the way you plan your calendar. Yeah, some unhappiness can't be avoided but hey, how do you get the rainbow without the rain right? See the good in the bad and life will be better.

I have no idea why I wrote the above, it just came out. Or maybe some people need it. HAHAHA! Anyway, got to meet the girlies for a Friday night hangout. Dinner at Astons and an unwinding session at Wine Connection at Cuppage Terrace.

And no, I don't drink because I dislike the taste of alcohol, but I painfully managed to finish a glass of sparkling. Achievement unlocked!

It has been a tiring week with minimum sleep, but it doesn't end today. 2 packed days of activities to end the week, LEGGO!

The best mirror is a friend’s eye

Recently there are so many good movies around to catch but watching them on a weekend can be so pricey. On the other hand, heading to a cinema on a weekday is so tough because 1) time and 2) commitments. You know what they say:

Pretty much sums it all.

Dental in the morning for tightening, next month visiting again for 3 teeth extractions (4 if they are including my baby tooth). Awesome, excited much because it will be the time for mashed potatoes, ice cream and yogurts. *sarcasm dripping*

Met up with Kar Yee for Fast and Furious 7. The movie was good, 2 thumbs up (4 including my big thumb toes)! I have always been a fan of FF, watched all of the series, probably rewatch them a little too many times, HAHAHA! But this lady here, this was her first FF movie. Seriously? You have been missing out!

I have yet to watch Avengers......

The greatest healing therapy is friendship and love

You know, as we grow up, we begin to have more commitments and responsibilities. People move in different directions of life and it takes effort to come together even for the shortest meetup. It is not an easy thing, especially if you have friends who work in shift jobs.

I feel so wise for typing the above paragraph, HAHA!

Anyway, moving on. Finally a meetup that accommodated to everyone's timing! Organising a meet up with them is similar to making a reservation in Carousel (a buffet place that is always full, got to make reservations way ahead of time e.g. months). True Story

Dined in at Poulet at Raffles City. Basically just eat, chat and snap.

Wei went off to meet KX so it was back to the 3 musketeers. Stood around and chatted until 11plus because, well, we have to work tomorrow. The plan was supposed to go for a drink at Clarke Quay (plain water for me) but plans were changed at the very last minute so yeah.

How long has it been? 11 years and ongoing.
